Responsibilities:

Manages AP, includes vendor relations and the AP disbursement group which handles all invoices, disbursements and 1099 related items

Develops, implements and maintains systems, procedures and policies including accounts payable functions to ensure adherence to company guidelines.

Trains and evaluates accounts payable staff to enhance their performance, development and work product.

Address performance issues and makes recommendations for personnel actions.

Motivate and rewards employees within allocated budgets and company guidelines.

Benchmark and assess the efficiency and effectiveness of the current process to streamline workflow; develop, implement, and communicate process improvements and internal control.

Perform check runs; analyzing and verifying outstanding invoices to ensure proper payment and adherence to Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.

Ensures that all financial deadlines regarding accounts payable are met for month-end, quarter-end and year-end financial closings, including supporting requests from internal and external audit functions.

Ensure key metrics are gathered and reported

Delegate tasks across the entire A/P team and ensure expectations so that the team achieves a quality outcome, this includes determining deadlines and recognizing and adjusting based on for inequities or high achievement.

Maintain consistency of adherence to accounts payable policies and goals, establish and communicate standard operating procedures for accounts payable team to follow, monitor and analyze specific accounts payable operations, such as: invoice research and follow-up; problem documentation; and standardization of input.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting finance preferred.

Five or more years leadership experience

Seven or more years of accounts payable experience

Must have large ERP AP system experience.

Must have 1099 filing experience

Strong computer and business solutions software skills

Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with accountants, vendors and upper management
- Excellent communication skills for communicating with support personnel and management
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills

Good planning and organizational skills to balance and prioritize work
