The Project Engineer performs engineering activities related to the quote and order release processes. The project engineer is typically assigned to support a certain customer base or market segment of company business.
Project Engineering activities include:
- Performs Quote/Contract/Specification Review for Made-to-Print Items against company capabilities and takes actions as required to ensure compliance with customer requirements. Provides Quote and order information to Sales in order to meet quote and order confirmation lead-time targets.
- Develops made to print items. Defines Item, Bill of Material (BOM) and manufacturing router structure. Provides cost information to sales for quotation purposes.
- Works with purchasing to identify sources of supply when new materials, components are required. Creates/revises purchase specifications to control requirements of purchased items.
- Develops manufacturing documentation (Process Control Documents, Final Inspection Reports) and releases orders per production schedule. Coordinates with production engineering for any new processes requiring engineering oversight, pilot runs etc.
- Coordinates with Applications engineering when quoting new opportunities.
- May serve as a back-up for production engineering as necessary
Experience
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics or related field.
- Detail-Oriented – Able to accurately interpret specifications and requirements, determine capabilities and costs for custom projects and document requirements effectively.
- Planning – Able to organize, prioritize work effectively in order to achieve deadlines and turn-around time targets.
- Teamwork/Interpersonal Skills - Able to communicate and work effectively in a work cell with Sales, QA and planning.
- Computer skills – Advanced use of Microsoft Office Products
Desired
- Previous work experience in RF/Microwave Electronics Manufacturing, Engineering, or Quality Assurance.
- Previous experience with reviewing technical requirements for Military, Aerospace customers.
- Exposure to Lean Concepts.
- Computer Skills – Previous experience with Databases, computer programming, ERP system, or mechanical drafting and simulation software.
- Masters Degree in Engineering Management, Systems Engineering, Manufacturing Systems, Business Administration or related field.
