Position Purpose
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for performing, managing and recording various internal and external transactions relating to the day to day dealings of the companies Operations. Among other responsibilities, the candidate will be entrusted to manage cash on hand, balance payables and receivables, and have a part in the closing of Monthly Financial Statements. The candidate should be a fast learner with an excellent ability to digest new material, be able to work independently and timely, with excellent written and oral skills, and have the capabilities to work alongside team members in identifying issues and implement solutions as needed.
Responsibilities
- Primary responsibility is to prepare financial statements and supporting schedules according to
- monthly close schedule.
- Analyze revenues and expenses to ensure they are recorded appropriately on a monthly basis.
- Assist with analyzing financial statements on a monthly basis and report on variances.
- Analysis and administration of multi-company books and records.
- Recognize and communicate key information to senior management
- Provide assistance in the forecasting and budgeting process for various entities
- Provide financial reporting to the local and parent company
- Liaise with internal and external auditors
- Liaise with the tax advisors and payroll company
- Liaise with various internal offices and employees
- Data Entry, Reconciliation and Account Analysis on a rolling basis
- Assist in documentation and monitoring of internal controls.
- Assist and maintain internal control documentation for areas of responsibility
- Ad Hoc projects and requests as needed
Qualifications required:
- 3+ years of relevant experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- Ability to meet strict reporting deadlines
- Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal and client management skills
- Problem solving skills, including the ability to identify process improvements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, focusing on Excel
- Standard knowledge of Accounting principles and practices
- Highly detail oriented and organized in work
- Ability to work independently as well as with teams, employees, management and external
- agencies
- Ability to learn required systems and software applications
- Experience with Oracle preferred, but not required
