SCOPE:
Perform functions to develop, model, design, assemble, test, document, and support 3D imaging systems and products, working with complex factors not easily evaluated and making decisions based on conclusions for which there is little precedent.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Design and assist with design of structured light 3D metrology systems and/or similar 3D imaging measurement systems.
- Develop and implement imaging techniques, algorithms, and approaches for high accuracy metrology systems. Algorithms include but not limited to pattern recognition and classification, image fusion, registration, filtering, machine learning
- Design, code and debug firmware and software applications in various languages (C++, Matlab) for control of 3D imaging products and/or test code for such systems.
- Generate math models and/or otherwise perform calculations necessary to accurately predict performance, resolution, and measurement accuracy of 3D imaging systems and similar 3D imaging systems.
- Participate in build and test of calibration platforms. Assist in implementation of high accuracy calibration of 3D metrology systems.
- Generate, edit, and/or direct generation of firmware and software code for control of 3D imaging systems and/or test fixtures designed for use with 3D measurement products.
- Research vendors, technology, and competitive products in support of design projects involving 3D imaging and similar technology.
- Test products as part of product development and/or production support.
- Provide expert technical guidance in the use and optimization of imaging systems for 3D metrology.
- Assist and support manufacturing, customer service, and customers with the use of product and fixtures as required.
- Provide guidance for and assist with test, documentation, and communication of critical information necessary to obtain and maintain regulatory approval for laser-based products.
HIRING PREFERENCES:
- MS in Computer Science, Physics, EE, ME minimum. PhD preferred.
- 3-5 years of related experience in developing algorithms for 3D imaging, interferometry, fringe projection systems or closely related field.
- Must be proficient in C++ programming and Matlab
